Trauma & Long-Standing Patterns

Trauma can take many forms. Some people struggle with memories and unsettling symptoms following a specific traumatic experience, such as sexual assault or another act of violence. Others have experienced repeated or developmental trauma that may have become normalized over time. Alongside flashbacks, nightmares, and distressing feelings, trauma can also contribute to dissociation, difficulty feeling fully present, or patterns of disconnection from yourself and others.

You may also find yourself reacting to situations in ways that feel difficult to understand or having trouble feeling safe, trusting others, or making sense of your emotions. Therapy can provide space to understand how these experiences may continue to shape your life, process and integrate what you have been through, and develop a greater sense of connection and presence.
